Practicing what I preach

This week I've had the opportunity to go back into training and enhance my own skills!

I spend much of my time delivering keynote speeches on leadership and talking to others about improving performance.

I spend the rest of my time talking about first aid training and how it must not be allowed to be a tick box exercise.

It's a really good thing to put your money where your mouth is and put yourself under the same pressure as your students!

I've been a student on the RTACC (Rescue, Trauma and Casualty Care) Course run by The ATACC Group. It's been a privilege (and a laugh) to train along side crews from Edinburgh Airport fire service.

The RTACC course represents a high level of first responder training. It forms the core from which all of the Sandstone Communications first aid at work training stems.

To live, breath and pass it (phew) has been an excellent insight into the knowledge and experience that our whole team are able to pass on to all of our clients at any level. It's about saving lives!

It was also great to put myself under pressure and lead some rescue training scenarios and see if I can still do it!
